ITU-T G.653 fiber will achieve results at or below 0.150dB when spliced with modern core alignment equipment. ITU-T G.657 (common in pre-connectorized inside plant terminations) will range from 0.150dB to 0.250dB per splice. In applications where G.653 is spliced to G.657 (precconectorized ISP is spliced to a OSP field cable) a perceived loss of 0.450db to 0.600dB will result until bi-directionally averaged.
